India is the second largest producer of cement in the world after China and the Indian economy relies heavily on the cement industry because the work of development is dependent entirely on the cement. 

The cement industry is in huge demand in the current scenario and according to reports about 67% of cement is used in the housing sector, 13% in the industrial sector and the remaining 11% in the commercial sector.  In the next four to five years the Indian cement is expected to reach the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.96%. The overall cement production in India is going to steeply rise by 39.5 tones by next year.  But it`s true that the cement companies in India are facing tough competitions from the global companies since the foreign companies provide better quality, durability and strength than the Indian companies.

Due to globalization and massive development the demand of cement has increased manifold.  It is this reason that demand of cement has increased too much. Another reason of growth in the demand of cement in the recent past is the increasing real estate development. People generally purchase plots of lands, construct them, and later sell them at huge amounts securing profits.

1.    Ultratech Cement- The ultratech cement is the biggest player in the Indian cement market being a product of a big Indian Multinational conglomerate Aditya Birla Group. The company started in 1857 and the cement production took place since 1983 naming the brand as Ultratech Cement. The company`s headquarters is based in the biggest financial capital Mumbai. According to reports about 6.4 crore tones of cement is manufactured every year. It is the largest cement exporter in India.

5.    Dalmia Cement- Damia cement is part of dalmia group that was established in the year 1939. With the experience of over 70 years of working operations in India, it has placed itself amongst the top cement companies in India.  With the production units in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu it produces approx 90 lakh tones of cement every year.
